Each case detail report may include basic case information, court action, case status, setting dates, party information, financial history, and a detailed case action summary.

Alabama Appellate Courts Public Portal case search

Use the Alabama Appellate Courts Public Portal for appellate case records from the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals, Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals, and Alabama Supreme Court.

The portal offers a dedicated search for Alabama appellate cases. Case search criteria include court, case category after a court is selected, case filed date, and an option to exclude closed cases.

The portal also provides Alabama appellate party search options for searching by party or participant role, representation type, court, case category, filed date, and closed-case status.

Appellate portal access limits

The Alabama Appellate Courts Public Portal provides public access to court dockets. Only registered users may view and purchase documents.

Coverage is limited: the portal provides access only to documents filed in, or issued by, the Alabama Appellate Courts on or after March 20, 2022. Confidential cases and documents are not available on the portal except to attorneys of record.

For documents not posted to public dockets, non-parties may seek access by contacting the clerk’s office for the appropriate court.
