Madison County Sheriff's Office inmate roster

The main public Jail View resource is the Madison County Sheriff's Office inmate roster. Use the search the Madison County inmate roster page to review current or released inmate listings.

The roster supports these basic review options:

• Newest-to-oldest or oldest-to-newest sorting

After opening the roster, use the available filters before opening a person’s profile.

• Select current or released inmates, depending on the custody status you need.
• Use the name search field if you are looking for a specific person.
• Sort the list by booking time or release time when reviewing recent activity.
• Open “View Profile” to see more detail for an individual listing.

What roster listings show

Roster entries may show the inmate name, booking number, booking time, gender, race, age, charge description, bond amount, holds, and a profile link. Released listings may also show a release time.

Check the profile view when a listing says there is more than one description, because the summary may not show every listed charge or detail.

VINE custody notifications

VINE provides custody status and criminal case information 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Users who need release notifications must register with VINE because Detention Facility staff do not make notification calls.

Bonding information

Bond posting depends on the charging agency and case type. City of Huntsville misdemeanor bonds can be handled through the City of Huntsville magistrate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. City of Madison misdemeanor bonds can be handled through the City of Madison Magistrate Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays.

Madison County misdemeanor and felony bonds can be posted through the District Court Clerk's Office Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., excluding holidays, on the 2nd floor of the Courthouse, Room 200.

Bonds can also be paid online through approved services listed by the jail. The Madison County Sheriff's Office does not process property bonds within Madison County or outside Madison County.

Inmate mail and property

The Madison County Sheriff's Detention Facility digitizes incoming personal mail for county inmates. Inmates access scanned mail through housing-area kiosks. Personal mail items are retained for seven days after receipt before disposal if not recovered.

Mail must include the inmate’s first and last name, inmate booking number, Madison County Jail, and the mailing address. The booking number can be found below the inmate’s name on the roster.

Family members may pick up property for housed inmates at the detention facility. The person picking up property must have valid photo identification. Personal property is generally stored for 30 days, with listed exceptions for items such as wallets, keys, cell phones, jewelry, identification, legal documents, and purse contents.

Commissary, messaging, and phone service

Funds can be added to an inmate account through the lobby kiosk, online through deposit funds or buy canteen items, or by phone at (706) 298-4974. Credit card transactions are limited to $150 per transaction and $500 per 30-day period, including fees.

NCIC Inmate Communications is the facility’s inmate telephone provider. Local, in-state, and out-of-state calls are listed at $0.16 per minute for inmate prepaid and prepaid collect calls. Mexico calls are listed at $0.25 per minute, and international calls are listed at $0.35 per minute.

Remote inmate visitation

Inmates must be incarcerated for 30 days before visitation is allowed. All visits are remote and may be monitored and recorded. Appointments can be scheduled up to 48 hours before the visit, and visitors must have an approved account before the first visit.

The remote visitation cost is $0.30 per minute, plus tax. Visits are first come, first served, and inmates are allowed up to three visits per day.
