If you need booking logs for journalistic, scholastic, political, governmental, or investigative purposes, complete and sign a Booking Information Declaration and mail the original to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Discovery Unit – PRA.

Custody status and victim notifications
For ongoing custody status updates, VINE provides notification access for victims. The program allows users to check custody status and register for release or transfer notifications.
Victims may register by phone or online. VINE monitors inmate movement, transfers, and releases, then contacts properly registered victims when new custody information is received.
Visits, classification, and inmate services
If an inmate is listed as unclassified, the person is pending a permanent housing location and cannot receive phone calls or visits until classification is complete. Classification can take two weeks to a month.
Each General Population inmate is provided at least two 30-minute in-person or video visits per week, totaling at least one hour. Special handle inmates are provided at least two 30-minute in-person or video visits, or one 60-minute visit per week when available.
For inmate deposits, LASD no longer accepts online deposits directly through its website. Access Corrections is listed as the contracted vendor for Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deposits, and LASD regulations require a valid residential address because P.O. Box addresses will not be accepted.
