What the online records cover

The online Official Records system includes recorded documents such as deeds, mortgages, easements, liens, marriage records, military discharges, and plats. It provides index information and document images for records that have been released for public viewing.

The online version is for general information and is not the official record for legal use. If you need a true certified copy, you must request one from the Clerk.

Older records and historical research

If you need records older than the online range, the Recording Department has a public research area with access to Volusia County Official Records dating back to 1887 in various forms of media, including microfilm and digital images.

For original physical books in the Historical Records room, appointments are recommended. Walk-ins are welcome, but immediate help may not be available and you may need to return later.

Clerk staff can help you use the available equipment and sources, but they cannot perform title searches or lien searches for you.
