The main online path is the Mahoning County Integrated Justice System, with separate access for Probate Court records through the Mahoning County Probate Court portal. Some records still require help from the appropriate court office.

Mahoning County Integrated Justice System case search

Use the Mahoning County Integrated Justice System case search to search public case information in the county’s centralized CourtView database. A search may include current and closed cases.

The system covers records from the Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas, General Division, the Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas, Domestic Relations Division, and the four Mahoning County Area Courts.

• For a case-number search, enter the case number exactly as it appears in CourtView.
• Use the full year and five number fields when searching by case number.
• For Area Court cases, check the location designator at the end of the case number.

Public access is limited by law. Records that are not available to the public, including Domestic Violence and Stalking Civil Protection Orders, are excluded from public searches.

Area Court case number designators

When a case comes from a court other than the Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas, CourtView may show a location designator at the end of the case number.

Probate Court records

For Probate Court matters, use the Mahoning County Probate Court records portal. The portal offers Smart Search for public probate court records, but confidential records may not be available for viewing.

You can search probate records by case number, exact name, or partial name. Case-number searches use the format YEAR-case abbreviation-case number, such as YYYY-ES-00123.

• Case number in YEAR-case abbreviation-case number format.
• Exact name with last name, comma, space, then first name.
• Partial name using at least three letters of the last name, an asterisk, comma, space, then at least one letter of the first name and an asterisk.

Divorce and Domestic Relations records

Divorce records can be obtained from the Mahoning County Clerk of Courts office. Domestic Relations records are not available online.

The cost for copies depends on the number of pages and whether certified records are required. Contact the Clerk of Courts for the request process before relying on an online search for a divorce record.

Older records and official copies

Some docket records, including some cases filed before 1989, may require a personal visit to the appropriate court location.

Online case information is public information generated from computerized court records, but it is not the official court record. Official records may be examined at the physical location of the appropriate court.

Other local court record options

Some municipal courts serving communities in Mahoning County have their own public record search or court information pages. Youngstown Municipal Court offers an online court case search portal for unrestricted public case records and documents.

Struthers Municipal Court lists Public Records Search and Daily Docket options on its court website. Campbell Municipal Court provides court location and contact information for matters handled by that municipal court.

E-filing and online payments

For Civil, Criminal, and Court of Appeals cases, the court does not accept pleadings or instruments in paper form except as allowed by the Administrative Order and Domestic Relations Court local rules.

The Mahoning County eFiling system allows users to initiate a case or file to an existing case electronically after requesting an approved account.

All County Courts accept online payments for waiverable citations and certain criminal offenses. Certain traffic citations may also qualify for the Safe Driver Program, but accidents and CDL license holders do not qualify.
