- Property ID
- Doing Business As name for a business property
- Owner ID or Geographic ID
The search page includes Owner, Address, ID, and Advanced search options.
- Open the Galveston CAD Property Search.
- Choose the search tab that matches what you know about the property.
- Start with a simple search. For an address, try the full address first, then simplify to the street name or street name with the number if needed.
- Use Advanced Search when you need more control over fields such as Property Type, Subdivision, Condo, Neighborhood, Tax Year, or Geographic ID.
- Open the matching record to review the property details page.

Refine your search results
If your first search does not return the right parcel, adjust the wording before adding more filters.
- For owner searches, try the first name alone, the last name alone, or the more unique name.
- Watch for spacing differences in names, such as a surname entered with a space.
- For business properties, use Advanced Search and enter the name in the Doing Business As field.
- If you get too many matches, re-run the search in Advanced Search and add only the extra details you know.
- If no results appear after adding many fields, remove some filters and try a simpler search.

Common questions
How do I search by address?
Select the address search option on the main property search page and enter the address. If that does not work, simplify the search to the street name or the street name with the number, and leave off the street type such as Lane, Drive, or Road.
Why is my property information incorrect or not updated yet?
The district says the site is for informational use and that changes can take time to appear online. If you already requested an update, allow more time, then contact Galveston Central Appraisal District if the record still looks wrong.
Why does the current year show N/A for tax data?
The district appraises properties during the year and then certifies those values. Current-year tax data becomes visible after certification, so check again later or contact the district if you need clarification.
Why is my property missing from the map?
The map does not include personal, mineral, or mobile home properties because of missing map data. If your property is not in one of those groups and still does not appear, contact the district for more information.
What is the fastest way to find one parcel?
Use the Property ID search when you have that number. The district says Property ID is the quickest way to locate a property, and it may be listed on an appraisal notice or tax bill.
