Montgomery County Inmate Lookup System
The main online resource for the Montgomery County jail roster is the Montgomery County Inmate Lookup System. The system is tied to the County Corrections Public Access Portal and may require an email address and password to sign in. New users can create an account from the portal.
The jail roster search is used to check whether a person is housed in the MCSO Jail Facility and to view booking photos.
- Name of the person you want to search
- Portal sign-in information, if prompted
After checking the roster, review the details carefully. If the person no longer appears on the roster, the Sheriff's Office FAQ states that the person has been released from Montgomery County Jail custody.
Montgomery County Jail Division

Visitation rules and scheduling
Jail visits must be scheduled online 24 hours in advance through the visitation system. Visits are by appointment only, and walk-ins are not allowed.
Each inmate is given one opportunity for visitation during the visitation period. Each visit is limited to two visitors. Detainees on quarantine status cannot visit until cleared for general population.
Normal visitation hours are listed below.
| Day | Hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday | 8:00 am–11:00 am and 2:00 pm–5:00 pm |
| Sunday | 8:00 am–11:00 am and 2:00 pm–5:00 pm |
| Monday | 7:30 pm–10:30 pm |
| Thursday | 7:30 pm–10:30 pm |
Visitors must have a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver license, state ID card, or passport. Visitors must pass through a metal detector before entry. Review the Montgomery County Jail visitation information before scheduling.
Important: Cameras, cellphones, handbags, and baby carriers are not allowed in the visitation areas.
Bond, release, and court-date questions
Bonds are processed in the order received, 24 hours a day. The jail does not give a specific release time because processing depends on several factors.
Release processing can take several hours. When inmates go to court, jail staff may not receive court paperwork until after 5:00 pm, and in some cases paperwork may arrive the next day. All charges and holds must be disposed of before release, and inmates are checked for new warrants before release.
The jail does not assign or track court dates. For felony offenses, users are directed to the Montgomery County District Clerk’s Office. For misdemeanor offenses, users are directed to the Montgomery County Clerk’s Office.
