Account changes and exemptions
The Tarrant County Tax Office handles billing and collection, but it does not change property values, exemptions, owner names, or mailing addresses. Those items are handled by the appraisal district for the county where the property is located.
For Tarrant County properties, Tarrant Appraisal District handles exemption information, property values, ownership updates, and address changes. You can also use the county’s property tax pages to review rates and exemptions and related appraisal district contacts.
Do not rely on a missing bill as a reason to wait. The county states that failure to receive a statement does not waive penalty and interest.

Common questions
Do I need to create an account to look up or pay property tax online?
No. The Tarrant County payment portal states that you do not need a profile or login to view account details or make a payment. Open the account search, find your property, and select the account you want to review or pay.
What should I do if I do not know my account number?
You can search by owner name, owner mailing address, or property address instead of the account number. For a property address search, enter the street number and street name only, without a street type or direction.
What happens if I miss the January 31 deadline?
Taxes become delinquent on February 1, and penalty plus interest begin at that point. The increase starts at 7 percent in February for standard delinquent accounts and continues to rise monthly, with extra collection penalties possible later in the year.
Who handles value changes, exemptions, or mailing address updates?
Those changes are handled by the appraisal district, not the Tax Office. For Tarrant County properties, contact Tarrant Appraisal District at (817) 284-0024 if you need help with values, exemptions, ownership, or address updates.
Where can I pay in person or by phone?
You can pay in person at Tarrant County Tax Office branch locations during business hours, or by phone through the third-party processor at (817) 884-1110. If you need to verify posting after a phone payment, check your account in the online portal after 1 to 3 days.
