Assessment data, taxes, and buyer cautions

The Property Appraiser states that assessment information comes from the last certified tax roll and that the office provides no warranties for the data, its use, or its interpretation. If a property record looks incorrect, contact the office.

Buyers should review tax changes carefully. Florida properties are assessed every January 1. After a purchase or ownership change, the property is assessed at just value, and previous exemptions and capped values are removed. That can result in a higher tax bill for the new owner.

All owners should apply for exemptions they may qualify for. qPublic also includes a tax estimator and tax distribution tool, but the estimator is for tax estimation purposes only and does not account for every variable, exemption, property use classification, reduction, or special assessment.
