Search results and custody status

The information shown for arrested or in-custody persons reflects the most recent information known to the Alameda County Sheriff's Office. Details may change as a person moves through the judicial process.

Some arrested and booked individuals may not appear in the Inmate Locator because of exemptions under Government Code section 6254(f). If a name does not appear, contact the local jurisdiction for information.

When a person is not in custody, the View Details button may be disabled. Inmate details are only shown for people who are currently in custody.

Pending release status

Pending Release applies to inmates housed at Santa Rita Jail and Glenn E. Dyer Detention Facility who have started the administrative process for release.

This release process may take several hours. If another legal holding authority is found during the process, the inmate may not be released.

Common search issues

If the search returns no matching inmates, check that the search criteria were entered accurately. When searching by name, use the phonetic search option if the last name spelling is uncertain.

The Inmate Locator does not support wildcard searches. If a session timeout message appears, start a new query and submit the search again.
