This page helps you complete a property search in Collin County, Texas, using the Collin CAD Property Search, the Collin CAD Interactive Map, and Collin Central Appraisal District contact points when online details are missing or unclear.

This site is independent and does not provide legal, tax, or financial advice or guarantees. Use official county and appraisal district resources to verify property details before relying on them.

Have a few details ready before you search.

  • Owner Name
  • Street Number and Street Name
  • Property ID or Geographic ID
  • Legal Description
  • Doing Business As for business searches

Start with the search type that matches what you know. Searching by Property ID is the quickest way to locate a property when you have that number.

  • Open the official Collin CAD Property Search.
  • Choose the tab that fits your information, such as Owner, Address, ID, or Advanced Search.
  • Enter the details you have and run the search.
  • Open a matching result to review the record, then use the results page tools to download a CSV file or email the results if you need to save or share them.

Refine search results

If the search returns too many matches or none at all, adjust the amount of detail instead of starting over.

  • For owner searches, try the first and last name together first, then simplify to just one name if needed.
  • For address searches, begin with the whole address. If that does not work, try only the street name or the street name with numbers.
  • Leave off street types such as Lane, Drive, or Road when the address search is too strict.
  • Use Advanced Search to add fields such as subdivision, neighborhood, abstract, hearing date, or protest status when you need to narrow a broad result set.
  • For a business, use Advanced Search and enter the name under Doing Business As.

Collin CAD Interactive Map

The map can help you confirm a parcel’s approximate location after you identify it in the property search. It works best as a visual reference, not as a boundary record.

Important: The map is for informational use only and is not suitable for legal, engineering, or surveying purposes.

You can open the Collin CAD Interactive Map to review parcel locations and related features. The district notes that ownership and GIS data are updated over time, and some properties may not appear on the map, including personal properties, mineral properties, and mobile home properties.

Other official options

Collin Central Appraisal District also points users to other official tools when they need a different access point or more records.

To create a Taxpayer Portal account, you need your Owner ID and eFile PIN from the most recent mailed appraisal or exemptions notice.

Data limits and updates

Online property information is provided for research purposes. Legal descriptions and acreage should be verified before using them for legal purposes or documents.

Changes submitted to the appraisal district may take time to appear online. Current-year tax data may show N/A until that year’s values are certified.

If a record you need is not available through the public search tools, you can submit an open records request electronically. The district says requests must be in writing, must describe existing records clearly, and may require payment before processing.

Common questions

How do I search by address?

Use the By Address tab in the Collin CAD search tool. Start with the whole address first. If that does not return a match, try only the street name or the street name with numbers, and leave off the street type if needed.

What should I do if a name search does not work well?

Begin with the person’s first and last name. If you get no results or too many results, try just one name, preferably the more unique one. For names with spacing variations, the district notes that a name such as McDonald may also appear as Mc Donald.

Why does the current year’s tax data show N/A?

Collin Central Appraisal District says tax data may remain unavailable until that year’s values have been certified. Check again later if you are searching before certification is complete. If the timing matters, contact the district office directly.

Why is my property missing from the map?

The map does not include some property types because of missing map data, including personal properties, mineral properties, and mobile home properties. If your property does not fall into one of those groups and still does not appear, it may not be mapped yet. In that case, contact Collin Central Appraisal District for more information.

Can I save or share property search results?

Yes. The search results page includes an option to download a CSV file, and the site also allows you to email results from the search results page or the property details page. Use those built-in tools when you need to keep a copy or send the record to someone else.
