Traffic, historical, civil, and probate searches

Traffic citation searches are available by traffic case number, citation number, or driver license number. Some traffic searches also use date of birth, last name or business name, vehicle license, agency, or issued year fields.

Historical case searches are available by case number, name, or filing date. Historical name searches may include an optional filing date range, while filing-date searches require both a start filing date and an end filing date.

Civil and probate users may be able to view participants, events, and documents where applicable. Subscribing to a civil or probate case requires an account and provides automated notifications when a new document is filed on that case.

Online access limits and record accuracy

Online results may not include the most current filings. The court states that errors can occur and that use of the information is the user’s responsibility.

Sacramento Superior Court has discontinued fees for online searches and document downloads in the Public Case Access System. Filed documents may still be subject to copyright or other proprietary rights, and use of case file information must comply with applicable law or court order.
