The Monroe County Clerk of the Circuit Court provides the public court records search and handles related court record questions through its offices and records contacts.

Use the Monroe County court records search to look up available case information. Name searches require both a first name and last name. Date searches require both a Date From and Date To value.

  • Case Type
  • First Name and Last Name
  • Business Name
  • Case Number
  • Date From and Date To

Search results are limited to the first 500 results, so narrow the search when possible.

  • Select the case type or leave all case types selected.
  • Enter a full name, business name, case number, or date range.
  • Submit the search and review the matching docket results.
  • Refine the search if too many results are returned.

Case number format matters: case numbers must follow the YYAA123456b(b) format, using the two-digit year, two-digit case type code, six-digit sequence number without leading zeros, and the location code.

Case types and search limits

The Clerk provides search pages for all case records, traffic, civil, criminal, family, and probate matters. Traffic and criminal search pages also include a citation number field.

Online docket information is available for most cases filed from approximately 1990 to present. Documents are available from 2007 to present for most case types.

Searches for mental health, juvenile, or guardianship cases will not return results for general public users. A missing result does not confirm that no case exists.

Online document access

Anonymous internet users can view court records except records that are expunged, sealed, automatically confidential under rule 2.420(d)(1), or made confidential by court order.

Remote images are not available to anonymous users for cases governed by the Florida Family Law Rules of Procedure, Florida Rules of Juvenile Procedure, or Florida Probate Rules, under section 28.2221(5)(a), Florida Statutes.

The Clerk’s court records FAQ explains that only redacted documents are available online or at the Clerk’s Office. Certified copies cannot be requested through the online system and must be obtained from one of the Clerk’s three locations.

Official records notice

The Clerk states that online information is provided as a public service and is subject to change without notice. Court record images copied from the internet site are not certified as true and correct copies.

Certified copies may be purchased in person at a Monroe County Clerk’s Office location. Online data and images may be refreshed as often as every 48 to 72 hours, and the site may be offline during backups or maintenance.
